frosted miniwheats in the morning.

goodmorning! oh my, i am in such a wonderful state this morning... im thanking God for the snow that i so earnestly protested not but days before. because it has really slowed me down, and i can just relax and think and blog and craft and sew... cuz... i really dont have any choice ;)

anyway, my sister joined me for a bit, and we had honey nut frosted mini mini wheats for breakfast, and tea of course {in other words, jenna hides the bag under the covers and eats all but five of them...}

snow, please stick around! i would love to have monday and tuesday and maybe even wednesday off from school :) {im a wishful thinker}

here's the mail it never fails...

last adventure of snow day number 1 --- jenna and i went outside and were very suprised to find mail in the mailbox... ? im sure it was probably just yesterday's mail, but... it wa still kinda funny! going out in the snow at night is my favorite, because even at 10:30 pm, its bright outside because of all the white snow!! such a beautiful sight! hopefully snow day number two will bring more fun and relaxation... and possibly some baking? :)

kelly and i had some fun in an elevator last night.

and.... this is what happened:

we had some visitors too! kat, carissa, whit, caleb, and zach, and some other random people who just hopped in for a few seconds...

i have a little recipe...

raingutter ice cream bar!

1. tape together six or seven rain gutters. you will need a long surface to place the gutters on.

2. gather a large group of hungry friends.

3. take big buckets of ice cream, and dish generous amounts all the way down the gutter.

4. toppings! sprinkles, chocolate, caramel, shell, cherries...

5. pass out the spoons
6. dig in! {whats really fun to do is just walk up and down the gutter taking a little from each area...}
haha... this is what i did last night. and would this not be the most awesome thing ever to have at a big party... or a wedding! how crazy would that be!

words of the week {4}

this week has gone crazy fast for me, and now it is time for the weekend! give it up for amazing weekends, short weeks, good moods, and living life to the overflow! oh, yah, and snow. yes, i am giving in and promise to make the best of the frigid weather... :)

yesterday's project! haha, i spent trig class {sorry ms. smoots} wednesday planning out these shorts! it made me really excited, and gave me something to do yesterday. i discovered that i LOVE making my own clothes. once i find some good fabric, id like to work on a little dress, and maybe a hippy skirt. oh! and an apron!

i know its winter, and yes, there is predicted to be 10 inches of snow this weekend :( but, this is my winter protest... here are some pictures of the process:

a hidden agenda

so, yes, it is almost a month into the new year, but i totally forgot to share my homemade agenda! it only goes to april sofar, so i have some work to do. but here are some pictures of it sofar!

if you give a girl a camera...

my sister and i were driving home yesterday and the clouds were ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL! ah! so, since i was driving, i got jenna to pull out my camera, and lets just say she went a bit crazy. :) {75 pictures in 7 minutes or less} but, we got what we aimed for....

hmmm....

....i really should post on the weekends.... but, sofar, nothing postable has occured. sorrys.

sweet little treats...

my mom hinted at me during dinner that "austin really wants to make cookies tonight..." so, i stepped up to the plate and gladly accepted the mission. after he got all washed up, we pulled flour sugar eggs vanilla extract chocolate salt baking powder..... and got to work.
austin measured all the ingredients, except the egg. i got to do that.... oh my. so, i grabbed the egg out of the fridge and cracked it on the side of the bowl, but for some reason it would not come out... and i came to find that it was a hardboiled egg... haha.

so we mixed all the ingredients together and stuck the cookies in the oven. at this point, austin lost interest and opted instead to march around the kitchen singing

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING?? THAT'S MY HUSBAND!......AAAAHHH!!!"

i love baking with children, because you really have to let loose and be very patient. and you also have to accept the fact that they only want to measure, mix, and dip their finger in the bowl. they will not clean, they will not stop, and they will make a big mess. but that's kinda why i like it.... i guess, it makes me feel like a kid again. :)
